Christina Mahler and Cindy Hale wrote of their experience: Our amazing Metchosin dinner. Cindy and I, both recently lost our life partners. In the fall on a beautiful sunny day we decided to go on a walk together in Metchosin. We started at the Sunday market and found women selling raffle tickets for the senior community in Metchosin. The winner would get a gourmet dinner for 8 people served at their home. Well, we bought a ticket together and WON. [May 23] was our dinner date, which involved 6 cooks, each making a course and 3 of the cooks came over to serve us. Gourmet it was! It was one delicious dish after another. We truly enjoyed it all and had a most wonderful time together. A huge thank you to all of the cooks, Helen Fletcher for organizing it all. And a special thank you to Helen, Betty Hildreth and Barrett Fullerton for serving us so graciously.
