Job Posting: SRC Office Manager

The Metchosin Seniors’ Association is hiring a contractor to operate the SRC.

The Manager is responsible for the operation of the Seniors’ Resource Centre, whose mandate is to support Metchosin seniors by helping them remain safely in their homes for as long as they are able to do so.

Therefore, the manager:
a) Ensures that the Seniors’ Resource Centre is open to the public a minimum of 16 hours per week.
b) Receives, researches and responds to enquires that come to the Centre by phone, email, or in person.
c) Compiles and organizes resources and assists seniors and their families in obtaining the information and the services they need.
d) With the MSA Board, supports the Metchosin Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Operations.
e) Recruits, trains and coordinates volunteers.
f) Organizes educational, recreational and cultural events and activities.
g) Ensures spending is within the approved budget and discusses with the Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer as appropriate.
h) Provides monthly reports at Board meetings, ensuring the Board, Council and municipal committees are aware of seniors’ issues.
i) Manages and delivers Metchosin Better at Home Program.
j) Undertakes office management duties. Experience of general office procedures and of Microsoft Office programs, WordPress and Mailchimp are required.

The Manager promotes the support and services provided by the Seniors’ Resource Centre by:
a) Implementing and developing a Communications Plan
b) Writing reports, news, and posts as required for the Metchosin Muse, the website, Facebook and other appropriate media, as well as maintaining the website and SRC Face Book page.

The Manager also:
a) Assists the Board in developing an annual business plan and budget, monitoring the progress of the plan and ensuring spending is within the budget.
b) Maintains various Excel logs and databases for the Resource Centre.
c) Maintains various Excel logs, databases and reports for Better at Home.

This is a contract part-time (up to 21 hours per week) position. The Metchosin Seniors’ Association will pay the contractor $25.00 an hour. The Manager needs to have a valid driver’s license and a car in good running order.
