VOICES in MOTION Research Study is a joy-filled intergenerational choir for persons with memory loss, their caregivers and high school students. UVic is recruiting for 2 new choirs now! Both choirs will be part of a study that explores the impact of participation in an intergenerational choir on social connections and quality of life.

This project is funded by the Alzheimer’s Society Research Program and Pacific Alzheimer Research Foundation. Community Collaborators include St. Andrews High School, Pacific Christian School and Island Health.
Victoria Assistive Devices and Coaching Study – VADAC is recruiting seniors who:
→ Are living in the Greater Victoria area, including Metchosin
→ Are living alone in their own home
→ Have one or more chronic health conditions
→ Have been hospitalized in the last 3 months
Eligible seniors will be randomly assigned to one of 3 groups and for a period of 3 months will receive free health coaching by telephone.
Group 1 will receive weekly 30-minute telephone calls from a trained peer coach starting immediately
Group 2 will receive weekly 30-minute telephone calls from a trained peer coach after a 3-month wait
Group 3 will receive weekly 30-minute telephone calls from a trained peer coach AND will use assistive devices that are installed in their home by the study team at no cost
ALL participants will receive a copy of the resource/workbook “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions”
