Mondays of June 28, July 12 & July 26 | 11am-12:30pm
Join Diana Smith of Metchosin ArtPod for three 90-minute live video classes. She will guide you in creating three 8 x 8-inch collages for yourself or as gifts. Learn how to use a potpourri of images and text – e.g. old photographs, letters, cards – and collage them into beautiful original artwork personal to you.
Themes may be aspects of your life, your family, special places or objects. For example, you may want to depict three generations of your family, different phases of your life or locations that are particularly memorable.
The classes will make use of everyday materials like photos, cards, old ticket stubs, etc., that have significance. Special materials such as brushes, card stock, wood cradle panels (for mounting and display) and glue are supplied.
- In the first session Diana will show examples of what will be created, and participants will introduce themselves and talk about what they might like to focus on for the collages. From this, suggestions will be made about what materials to collect and prepare for the next session. T
- The second session will include demonstrations and beginning hands-on work to create the collages. In-between the sessions participants will continue creating, cutting , tearing, arranging and gluing.
- The third session will include finishing and display suggestions plus ‘show-and-tell’ with everyone invited to talk about their creations.
