Access our 2019 SUMMER/FALL NEWSLETTER, which provides updates to end of this year.
Seasonal Highlights: The Seniors’ Resource Centre will be CLOSED from Friday, July 27th through Monday, August 5th, as we’ll be moving into our NEW renovated space during this time, just next door within the Metchosin Arts & Cultural Centre, on the exhibit floor (3 steps-up!) Our NEW access doors will be the Automatic Doors at the Ramp Entrance, in the right corner of the Courtyard. Designated parking will also be outside these doors. Watch for new signage and directions – we expect to be fully moved into our new space when we reopen on Tuesday, August 6th!
Save the Date: Our next BIG event, which is Metchosin Day on Sunday, September 8th, is also celebrated around the world as “Grandparents Day!” Please share a GRAND-hug on this special day, and do stop by (or volunteer) at the Metchosin Seniors’ Booth, where we’ll be selling “2019 Gourmet Dinner” Raffle Tickets, for this annual fall fundraiser. Check out the MSA-Gourmet-Dinner-MENU-2019
Volunteering: We’re always in need of companions/drivers for ongoing tea times, events and meals, visits and medical appointments. We’re also looking for more tech savvy volunteers, as we continue to meet demands for geek sessions. Geeks can be flexible with their time, as sessions are arranged by appointment only.
Ongoing Events and Programs:
* Inter-Gen Connects: * Twice weekly on Monday and Friday from 2-4, we will be working on “The Legacy Project”, matching seniors with students for storytelling activities and digital production. Volunteers are needed to support Storytelling Project Teams right up to the end of October 2019!
* Drive & Dine Continues: Once each month on the last Thursday – we will continue to attend Potluck Lunch at MC House. Beginning again in September 2019, once monthly, on Monday’s from 5-7pm – we’ll travel to free community suppers at Gordon United Church in Langford.
* Tea Time n’ Coffee Chat: repeats every Wednesday from 1-3pm: * Weekly Hosts and Drivers needed for summer and fall!
